Whats up with Yahoo Backgammon? The number of people playing changes while I wait for it to load 5 bars total

I’ve been trying for 2 days to get to Yahoo backgammon to play. Sometimes it will load to 5 bars and other times only 3. I’m using DSL and the activity light is blinking right along like it should, but so far it has never loaded sucessfully, even after waiting inexcess of a half hour. Definitely puzzled.

Is there anything to be done about a backgammon opponent not playing in a timely manner?

I am playing an opponent in a 128 game. she then refused to double after 64 because she was losing. Now, she is taking 2 minutes between rolls and refuses to double back.
